Gladiolus flowers have numerous varieties although certain ones are particularly popular amongst the gardeners. Grandiflora gladiolus is the one that bears blooms that are huge and prominent whereas Nanus gladiolus is small and fit well in small gardens. Another popular one is Butterfly Gladiolus, but it has a fine and colorful motto in the petals. These types are available in most shades such as red, pink, white, yellow, and purple. The types to choose are determined by their place in the garden and the climate, but the majority of Gladiolus species are not that difficult to maintain and cultivate when it is taken care of.
